Energise is now a B Corp!

What better opportunity than B Corp Month to announce that Energise is officially a certified B Corp! That means that we are now part of a global community of just short of 5,000 businesses dedicated to building a brighter future for our planet and our society.
The certification addresses the entirety of our operations and covers five key areas of impact: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers.
Energise has been rigorously tested and very proud to have scored a solid 105.2 out of 200, compared to 50.9 for a typical business and 80 needed to qualify.
Becoming certified also gives us the opportunity to work with other passionate B Corp businesses. Since the day our co-founders set out the mission and values of Energise, we’ve had a very deep personal and professional commitment to doing business a different way, and we are excited to be standing next to peers who want to do the same.

What next? Elevating Energise’s mission to care for people and planet

Going forward, we know there is plenty of work we need to do, so we have already adopted additional practices to make sure our colleagues, customers and wider community are looked after. We have made significant changes to the way we work by supporting flexible and remote working practices in a bid to reduce our transport and commuting footprint. We will continue to monitor those carbon savings and report them against our sustainability targets and B Corp performance. The Energise HQ is now a single use plastic free office and we are encouraging visitors and colleagues alike to consider the packaging of their orders through posters and other informational materials. We have also ammended our contracts to switch to a fully electric fleet of company vehicles and made sure to install our own charging points to make their use as accessible as possible.
Of course, when all is said and done, it’s people who drive our mission forward, so it’s our colleagues we put at the top of our priorities. We firmly believe that wellbeing is at the core of meaningful change, so, with the help of our BRAVING values acting as a guide, we have taken a look at developing trust and accountability further. In 2022, we have adopted an unlimited annual leave policy with the view of empowering each and every one of us to manage our own time fully in accordance with our own individual preferences and ways of working. We have also adopted an extended paternity leave policy, a personal wellbeing budget per quarter and linked our volunteering days allowance to the annual bonus criteria.
And this is just the beginning of a long journey to one of our team objectives – building Energise into one of the most sustainable companies in the world! Stay tuned for a programme of blogs covering our journey within all the 5 areas of impact, with more detail on governance, leadership and customer care to follow.
Thank you, all of you, for trusting us, working with us and enabling us to be a changemaker in the world!
