How the EcoVadis rating system works
EcoVadis scores your business across four key areas. You’ll receive a score for each theme. Then your overall performance is ranked against other companies worldwide.
Medals
Medals are awarded based on your overall score:
- Platinum = Top 1% companies
- Gold = Top 5%
- Silver = Top 15%
- Bronze = Top 35%
To earn a medal, you must provide strong evidence for your sustainability practices. EcoVadis reviews each claim carefully, using multiple sources. This verifies the accuracy. This requires you to identify multiple pieces of high quality evidence. This makes the process detailed and time consuming. But that’s where our consultancy adds real value.

EcoVadis assessments are typically valid for 12 months. It’s recommended to update your submission at least annually to maintain or improve your rating.
