Energise enters new partnership with finnCap Group

We are delighted to announce that we enter a new phase in our evolution as a business beyond our current focus on Net Zero. We now embark on a journey, in collaboration with our Joint Venture partners finnCap (who now have a 50% interest in Energise), to create a sustainability consultancy. Energise was founded on the premise that there was another way to live, work and do business; a better way, which will lead to a brighter future for each of us, our society, and our relationship with the planet.
Established in 2008 by Simon and Tamsin Alsbury with the initial objective of developing energy saving options for corporate and public sector clients, we have since grown into a full-service Net Zero and energy efficiency practice. We currently assist c.180 clients in mitigating and adapting to their climate change challenges with a core focus on regulatory compliance, best practice, measurement and emission reduction programmes to drive effective business transformation.
The investment from finnCap will fuel our continued consulting growth as we will be targeting 50-70% revenue growth year-on-year. We are confident the new venture will strengthen the support we offer our clients on their pathway to Net Zero, and allow us to evolve to respond to the needs that our customers and society at large have for assistance on a wider range of sustainability topics including:
  • expanding our existing environmentally focused offerings;
  • supporting our customers with advice on sustainable investment and wider ESG reporting/disclosure;
  • establishing a diversity, inclusion, culture and ethics team/offering.
Here is what our Co-CEO and Co-Founder, Simon, had to say about the opportunities ahead: “True sustainability requires a holistic approach, a clear sense of purpose and a set of values to guide you like a compass. We are excited about how we can evolve to support our customers and society in meeting the challenges of today and creating a better future for their organisations, our society. In finnCap we’ve found the right partners to take our impact to the next level.”
Tamsin Alsbury, our Co-CEO and Co-founder, added: “This partnership allows us to meet our customers’ changing needs in a complex world, while growing a sustainable business that models doing things the right way. We’re delighted to have this opportunity to work alongside finnCap and welcome Sam Smith and Richard Snow to our Board. From the first time we met it was clear we had an aligned set of values and a shared vision for business being a force for good.”
Sam Smith (CEO, finnCap) commented: “At finnCap we’re committed to building the business of tomorrow, and a different kind of advisory firm for the UK’s most ambitious growing companies. Our acquisition of a 50% interest in Energise is another key step in the product diversification strategy we set out at IPO and will give our clients access to a practice capable of assisting them with addressing their key sustainability challenges facing today’s board room table alongside the group’s existing ECM, M&A, debt and private capital teams.”

The challenges today, and ahead of us, as a society in the environmental and social areas are substantial. We believe this new partnership will bolster our efforts to be a force for good, helping our customers, be they public or private sector, corporate, SME or individual, to create a more balanced life that supports a better future.
We want to thank our customers, partners, team and wider networks for your continued support and the role you played in Energise’s success story to date, we are looking forward to elevating our partnership in the years ahead!
