Transdev UK is a leading public transport operator, committed to delivering sustainable mobility solutions across the UK. Transdev serves communities with a focus on reliability, innovation, and environmental responsibility. Their ambition to achieve Net Zero by 2050 underpins their approach to both service delivery and corporate governance.

What Transdev Needed

With the introduction of Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21, Transdev faced the challenge of producing a compliant Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP) that would:

    ●  Accurately measure and report Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions across all              UK operations.

   ●  Demonstrate a credible pathway to Net Zero, supported by robust data and                              transparent methodologies.

   ●  Satisfy both regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations for ESG                               performance and ISO14001 certification.

How Energise Helped

Transdev partnered with Energise to deliver a comprehensive and compliant CRP.

Energise provided:

  • A structured carbon accounting methodology aligned with the GHG Protocol, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • End-to-end support in collecting, validating, and analysing emissions data.
  • Rigorous QA processes and stakeholder engagement to refine data and address feedback, such as clarifying vehicle data and electricity attribution.
  • Development of a formal CRP, detailing Net Zero commitments, baseline emissions, and reduction strategies.

The Impact

The collaboration delivered tangible results:

  1. Regulatory compliance: Transdev published a fully compliant PPN 06/21 Carbon Reduction Plan, reinforcing its commitment to Net Zero.
  2. Transparency: Emissions data and methodologies were clearly documented, supporting stakeholder trust and future ESG reporting.
  3. Operational insight: The process highlighted key emission sources (diesel, electricity, F-gases), enabling targeted reduction efforts.
  4. Continuous improvement: The groundwork was laid for ongoing refinement of Scope 3 data and integration of ESG metrics into operational reporting.

How Energise's added value

Energise’s partnership enabled Transdev to move from compliance-driven reporting to a data-driven, strategic approach to carbon management. The project not only satisfied regulatory requirements but also empowered Transdev to make informed, impactful decisions on its journey to Net Zero.
