Senior Consultant (Carbon and Environment)
Salary: £35,000 – £43,000, dependent on experience
Location: Home based with ability to travel to St Neots, Cambridgeshire and customer sites

We are currently seeking a Senior Consultant (Carbon and Environment) to join our growing team. To achieve success in the role you will need to work effectively, have good communication and problem-solving skills, and a good understanding of the GHG Protocol.
The Role
ESG is steadily climbing up the Boardroom agenda for large organisations and this role is pivotal in supporting our customers to set, and take action against, ambitious Net Zero and environmental targets. As a Senior Consultant (Carbon & Environment) you will work in a team to deliver high quality Net Zero action plans, life cycle assessments and data analysis to maximise our customer’s positive carbon and wider environmental impact in the world, as well as support our customers to meet their carbon reporting requirements.
To achieve success in the role you will need to have excellent analytical skills, as well as the ability to deliver successful projects on time. You will need to inspire trust in our customers by demonstrating exceptional technical knowledge and application, enjoy thinking creatively to solve technical challenges, have a high commitment to technical excellence, and be able to deliver tech-enabled solutions.
As part of this role, you will be expected to:
- Know, understand and be able to apply in practice scopes 1, 2 and 3 GHG protocols.
- Engage with supply chains to access supporting information and increase the reach of our impact.
- Conduct life cycle analyses (LCAs) of various products, services and events.
- Analyse data to identify patterns and trends, relationships between resource use and GHG emissions in relation to Net Zero targets, including formal Science Based Targets.
- Contribute to the completion of statutory energy reporting projects (e.g. ESOS) for a range of customers.
- Liaise with and attend customer/stakeholder meetings and contribute to and independently deliver presentations to all levels of seniority, leading customer workshops as required.
- Act as a catalyst for change and support our ambition to support 1 in 100 people to go Net Zero, by being curious, focused and innovative.
- Contribute to the creation and review of technical briefings and external communication.
- Research new technologies and methods to influence the continual improvement of our service provision.
- Support our customers to achieve and maintain relevant ISO certifications (e.g. ISO14001).
- Manage your projects, ensuring work is effectively delivered on time, in full, within budget in a way that wows the customer.
- Manage customer reporting through our in-house reporting platform (i.e. Net Zero Hub).
- Contribute to account plans to ensure that customer relationship managers have a full picture of the relationship with our customers across all service areas.
- Working with the customer managers, ensure all customer relationships are nurtured and valued.

Experience, Qualifications and Characteristics
Essential attributes
- Degree or equivalent in related subject or adequate sector experience in a carbon/sustainability related role.
- Competent at Excel with great analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills that allow you to build relationships that educate, engage and inspire people to take action (confident presentation skills).
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to deliver for multiple customers.
- Exceptional written and presentation skills.

Package
- Salary £35,000 – 43,000 (dependent on experience)
- Pension Scheme (matched 5% contribution)
- Unlimited holidays (minimum of 28 per year and 5 per quarter)
