Salary: £40,800 - £46,800 p.a.
Location: Home based with ability to travel to St Neots (Cambridgeshire) and customer locations

The Role

As a Principal Net Zero Consultant you will be part of the team that delivers high quality, sustainable advice to our customers on energy and carbon reduction through engaging with our customers’ full scope of emissions. This role will support our customers on their Pathway to Net Zero, engaging with their Senior Management to inspire change at a strategic level. You will support our clients on carbon-related compliance, carbon footprinting, scenario modelling, life cycle carbon analysis and strategy development.

As part of this role, you will be expected to:

  • Know, understand and be able to apply in practice Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG protocols

  • Contribute to the creation of customers’ Net Zero Strategy and Carbon Management Plans

  • Generate climate adaptation risk and opportunity assessments and reporting

  • Lead a portfolio of customers on their Pathway to Net Zero

  • Manage a portfolio of customers through a variety of reporting schemes, including SBTi, SECR, TCFD and CDP

  • Support in the building of scenario models and the associated strategic outcomes for our customers

  • Support our customers to achieve and maintain relevant ISO certifications (e.g. ISO50001)

  • Lead customer workshops as required

  • Research new technologies and methods to influence the continual improvement of our service provision

  • Provide support on internal training of the wider team

  • Contribute to the creation and review of technical briefings and external communication

  • Liaise with and attend customer/stakeholder meetings and contribute to and independently deliver presentations to all levels of seniority

  • Manage your projects, ensuring work is effectively delivered on time, in full, within budget in a way that wows the customer

  • Act as a catalyst for change and support our ambition to support 1 in 100 people to go Net Zero, by being curious, focused and innovative

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in related subject or adequate sector experience in a carbon/sustainability related role

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and application in practice of Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG protocols and other relevant standards
