We act as a partner to our clients, putting people ahead of contracts to build relationships on a solid foundation of trust, respect, vulnerability and mutual benefit.

The purpose of this role is to be a strong voice for Energise, to help promote our mission out into the world, to build our brand and to communicate the benefits of not only working with us specifically, but of taking any action towards becoming net zero. You will be a firecracker in the business, catalysing positive change for our team, our clients and our brand.  You will be expected to engage organisations and networks in embarking on, or developing their approach to, going Net Zero. As part of this you will be an advocate for Energise’s offers to support Net Zero (Pathway to Net Zero for Industrial/Commercial, The Net Zero Club for SMEs, Zero Hero for Personal/Domestic).

As part of this role, you will be expected to:

  • Devise creative ways to clearly convey messages in order to keep our customers/contacts up to date with important news and to share information/insight on Net Zero

  • Gauge reactions to internal/external communications, using feedback to recommend and implement new initiatives & solutions for our customer/contact network

  • Support the delivery of our “open-source” toolkits and the development of our “free to access” resources on the Net Zero Hub

  • Work with colleagues to contribute to specific projects, especially sustainability/net zero engagement work

  • Compile and distribute internal and external newsletters, writing and editing content & contributing to social media

  • Write meeting briefing notes to cascade information from senior staff to the team and our associates

  • Encourage two-way and multi-way communication through, for example, engagement tools, suggestion schemes, workshops and social/community networking

  • Provide advice to employees regarding the Energise/Net Zero Club/Zero Hero branding and identity

  • Organise and manage webinars, seminars, events and presentations, which could involve booking facilities and equipment, working with agencies and preparing presentations

  • Act as a catalyst for change and support our ambition to support 1% of the UK to go Net Zero by 2025, by being curious, focused and innovative

The Candidate

  • You are a bright, self-motivated, dedicated and hardworking person.

  • You agree, without hesitation, with the scientific conclusions of the UN IPCC.

  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills (both in person and over the phone) and are able to demonstrate your ability to repeatedly go above and beyond expectations.

  • You enjoy being organised and proactive and possess a temperament that allows you to remain calm while handling a high volume of consecutive tasks.

  • You enjoy being challenged, challenging others, and reflecting on your own performance with the aim of continually improving both your personal and professional competencies.

  • You're excited about working in an industry which experiences rapid change and development, and are energised about creating new ways of communicating the benefits to clients/prospects of taking action to mitigate their impact on climate change.
